Job Description


The Senior Analyst, Cost Allocations will focus on analyzing payroll cost and allocations to the various divisions within Related. This position will collaborate with Senior Business Leaders within Asset Management, Development, and Financial Planning & Analysis as well as Corporate Accounting, and other key functions such as IT, HR, in providing operational, analytical and consultative support for optimal business unit decision making regarding cost distributions, budgeting, and planning.  The Senior Analyst role will report directly to the Manager of the Cost Allocations team within Corporate Accounting.  
  • Provide consultative, service oriented, support to Senior Level Business Leaders to ensure they understand how payroll cost is allocated.
  • Prepare management reporting and analysis of payroll cost and allocations on a monthly basis and distribute to Senior Business leaders and other key stakeholders using IBM Business Intelligence.
  • Work with key stakeholders to analyze variances of monthly payroll cost to support budgeting, and key stakeholders to determine monthly payroll expense fluctuations.  
  • Create ad-hoc reports as requested of payroll data to support management review of cost allocations
  • Utilizing IBM Business Intelligence run reporting in support of month end close journal entries for Payroll Costs and Allocations.
  • Maintain the integrity of all active Cost Center data and their respective General Ledger rules within UltiPro.
  • Evaluate current processes to identify and improve flow of data through various internal systems including UltiPro, IBM Business Intelligence, and J.D. Edwards.


Qualifications


  • Undergraduate degree with 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in areas such as finance, accounting, and/or data management.
  • Analytical skills with ability to evaluate complex data sets and present solutions that consider a multitude of business requirements, ability to problem solve with micro and macro views.
  • Strong communication to work effectively with and present to a broad range of key business stakeholders within asset management and development.
  • Superior organizational skills, must be detail oriented and have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Mature professional with sound judgment, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems and information tools such as UltiPro, IBM Business Intelligence, and JD Edwards. Understanding of functional databases is a plus.
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting concepts and ability to work with Company Operating statements including P&L and Balance Sheet is a plus.
  • Experience in real-estate development, management, construction or other industries with complex payroll, cost distribution dynamics is considered a plus.
  • Professional judgment with confidential and sensitive information from internal and external data sources.
